Mudslides prompt closures of I-70 westbound lanes near New Castle and Parachute

Heavy rains Sunday caused several mudslides along the I-70 corridor.

According to a Garfield County emergency alert, westbound lanes of I-70 are closed at mile marker 105 west of New Castle and mile marker 75 in Parachute.

Motorists are being diverted to Highway 6 in both locations.

This is a developing story and will be updated as new information becomes available.
