With less than a week until Election Day, time is running out to mail in ballots.
Starting today, the Pitkin County elections office recommends voters use a ballot drop box or vote in person. Ballots must be recieved, not mailed, by 7 p.m. on election day in order to be counted.
Voters in Pitkin County can drop off their ballots at the administration building or Snowmass town hall. Drop boxes for Eagle and Garfield Counties are located in Basalt, El Jebel, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs.
Voters who have already mailed in their ballots can track them online through the Colorado Secretary of State’s office. In-person voting continues this week every day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
As of yesterday, Garfield County has the most returned ballots, with just over 8,000 cast. Eagle County is near that, at over 7,000. Just over 3,000 votes have come through in Pitkin County.
Preliminary election results will be available after 7 p.m. on Election Day, which is next Tuesday.
