Former Lottery Director Abel Tapia Running For Congress

Roger Adams

Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, in the view of one political observer (here,) the has gone from safe Republican to likely Republican.  The change came as Democrat Abel Tapia entered the race against GOP incumbent Scott Tipton.  Tapia is a civil engineer by training but has a long record of public service.  He served terms in the Colorado State House and Senate and was director of the Colorado State Lottery.  Recently, Tapia, who lives in Pueblo, was in Aspen meeting voters and came in for an interview.  He spoke with APR’s Roger Adams.
