More rockfall work means closures for Highway 133

Jon White

Highway 133 south of McClure Pass will be closed to traffic for several hours on Thursday. The Colorado Department of Transportation will be doing rockfall work that day. Weather permitting, the highway will be closed between mile marker 24 and 25.5, at the south end of Paonia Reservoir.

The work is expected to start in the late morning and last into the late afternoon. Crews will be using controlled explosives with clean up afterwards.  Rockfall work will continue through the fall, with more full closures next week
