This Sunday is the final week of the 2015 Basalt Market.

Craig Fulmer is on the board of the Basalt market and says this, it’s fifth year, has taken the cake.

“This year was epic, it was so wonderful,” said Fulmer, who also runs Rock Canyon Coffee Roasters.

Local Artist Jeanie Norris has been selling has been with the market since its beginning five years ago.

The farmers, vendors, and artisans who rely on the weekly sales are all based around Basalt, the lowervalley, and the western slope. Sunday is the key. Many vendors attend other markets on Saturdays and are grateful for the staggered opportunities to set up in the valley. For Mark and Angie McDermott, and their family farm in Paonia, that means selling at the Montrose market on Saturdays then harvesting again for their early morning trip into Basalt.

While this week closes the 2015 season, the town of Basalt is seeking a seasonal Sunday Market Manager in preparation for next summer to be bigger yet.
