The Elected Officials Transportation committee passed a budget yesterday that continues to fund free RFTA rides to Snowmass Village next year.
The multi-municipality board of elected leaders also talked about big-picture transportation plans for the valley - including a real-time traffic tracker notifying commuters when there is significant traffic backed up at the entrance to Aspen.
The committee also discussed expansion of the Brush Creek/Highway 82 Intercept lot, the over-budget Basalt underpass, and the most recent travel patterns study. The group spent the majority of their time discussion the entrance to Aspen corridor, rehashing benefits and drawbacks to a four-lane road from the airport to Main Street.
