Tax loss would mean job cuts

Aspen School District

Top administrators at the Aspen School District petitioned City Council this week to place a tax question on the November ballot.

The measure would extend a 0.3 percent sales tax already in place that brings in about $2 million dollars annually to the schools. Aspen Public Radio’s Alycin Bektesh spoke with Kate Fuentes, the district’s Chief Financial Officer, about the impact of those $2 million dollars, how TABOR effects education funding and how Snowmass Village property taxes come into play.
