In an unprecedented year of divisiveness and rancor across the nation and in our community, Aspen Public Radio was proud to host a series of debates on local issues with the candidates and representatives from important local races. APR is the place on your dial and on your device to find intelligent and reasoned discussion.

Clerks recommend sending ballots Monday

Elise Thatcher

After Monday, Coloradans wishing to register to vote, update their registration, or cast a ballot must do so in person. Because by law Colorado’s mail-ballots can not be sent out after today, anyone registering between now and Election Day, November 8th, can not participate in the mail in process. To register to vote in Colorado you must have twenty two days of residency.

Ballots were mailed to all eligible voters on October 17th and in-person early voting began last week. As of October 28th,  5,800 ballots already returned in Garfield County, 6,050 in Eagle, and 3,300 in Pitkin. For those who did receive a ballot in the mail and are planning on sending it back, those should be mailed today to ensure receipt.
