Cozy Point plan still open for comment

City of Aspen officials have extended the deadline to provide feedback on the management plan for the Cozy Point Ranch open space property.

The 168-acre historic ranch sits at the intersection of Hwy. 82 and Brush Creek Road. The city released the draft management plan this summer and has held more than 40 meetings for interested parties. The plan includes equestrian programming, recreation, sustainable agriculture and education.

City of Aspen natural resource manager Austin Weiss said the public comment period was extended by request of the Roaring Fork Valley Horse Council. The extra two weeks gives the group time to review the document and solicit feedback.

The public can submit comments through Dec. 5 at the website aspencommunityvoice.com.

She has spent her entire life playing in the mountains and rivers around Aspen, and is thrilled to be reporting about all things environmental in this special place. She attended the University of Colorado with a Boettcher Scholarship, and graduated as the top student from the School of Journalism in 2006. Her lifelong love of hockey lead to a stint working for the Colorado Avalanche, and she still plays in local leagues and coaches the Aspen Junior Hockey U-19 girls.
