The Glenwood Springs Police Department has noted that shoplifting is on the rise, just in time for the holidays.
According to Police Chief Terry Wilson, there’s usually an increase in theft around the holidays. This year, however, seems worse than normal to him.
In the past two weeks, there have been several instances of shoplifting, everything from expensive electronics to T-shirts, and one report of boxes of presents being stolen off of someone’s front porch.
Wilson said at least some of the culprits have been from out of town, so the influx of holiday traffic could be at play.
