Not as many people stayed in hotels in Aspen and Snowmass this December, as compared to a year ago.
Data shows Aspen suffered a 1.7 percent decline in occupancy, while Snowmass was 3.6 percent behind last year.
It wasn’t all bad news: The Friday after Christmas boasted one of the highest occupancy rates ever recorded in Aspen, almost 99 percent.
January’s occupancy rates are expected to be strong, thanks to events like the Grand Prix, Gay Ski Week and the X Games.
