Lake Christine Fire Sending More To The Dr, Says Valley View

The Lake Christine Fire has threatened the safety of valley residents. It’s also threatened their health.

Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs said Tuesday it has treated four patients with needs related to the Lake Christine Fire. None were life-threatening.

During the first few days of the fire, the Lung Center at Valley View was receiving 10 to 12 calls each day from people having trouble breathing from poor air quality. This week, daily calls have dropped to fewer than five.

The hospital says there’s an increase in refills on inhalers and other respiratory supports. Roaring Fork Family Practice, in Carbondale, is also experiencing an increase in both calls and visits.
