Heldman Announces Departure

Aspen Public Radio President Carolyne Heldman announced today she will be stepping down from her leadership role at the end of the year.

Heldman joined the station as Program Director in 2008 and moved into her current position in 2013. In her decade with the organization, she led the charge for increased local programming, created a slew of public affairs shows, including "Cross Currents" and "Non-Profit in the Spotlight."

Membership has risen 45 percent under her leadership, and is higher than ever.

“I feel so comfortable leaving now because I’m leaving this place in such good hands, and we’ve never sounded better,” said Heldman. “ I feel like it’s time for the next generation to take it to the next level.”

Heldman will stay on through the end of 2018, and will continue to be involved in special projects with the station.
