Senior Law Day 2019

Alpine Legal Services

The Third annual Senior Law Day is happening Friday at Basalt Middle School.

Residents of Pitkin, Eagle and Garfield counties are gathering to hear about everything from warning signs of Alzheimer's to the top ten scams targeting seniors. Jennifer Wherry, the executive director of Alpine Legal Services, helped organize Senior Law Day.

“We really want to maximize the improvements to the experience of aging,"Wherry explained. "There are so many local resources who are really working hard to make sure the experience of aging is as positive as possible here in the Valley.”

Wherry says Senior Law Day is all about being aware of your rights as you get older, or care for someone who is getting older.

“It’s good to be aware," said Wherry. "We want to improve the civic health of our community by knowing what our fundamental legal rights are.

Senior Law Day is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
