AMFS ends season with "Prairie Home"

On the last tour of the Benedict Music Tent and Harris Hall this summer, about two dozen people got to go into the depths of the venue.

Though most people who came to see shows at Harris Hall and the music tent didn’t get to see this part of the space, the acoustically designed building held many of the world’s top performers.

For Asadour Santourian, who helps to pick the guest performers, the summer was a successful one. He says he couldn’t pick one moment of the summer that topped them all.

“Oh gosh. I would say not.”

The festival’s last classical concert plays on Sunday, while Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion will perform for the first time in the tent on Monday. The music school will reopen its doors next summer on its new campus which will begin construction next week.
