Ballet ends season with new dancers, program

The last performance for the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet company is tomorrow. With new dances and dancers making their debuts this summer, representatives say the season was a successful one.

With three new dancers and a company learning new choreography, there were a few things that could have gone wrong, but the opposite happened.

As the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet closes its 2015 season, they end a summer with another schedule full of sellout crowds.

Jean-Philippe Malaty, the executive director of the Ballet, says the quality of the dancers shows the company’s ability to find talent.

“I think we have a good eye to discover the next generation of talent. So far we’ve been doing very well.”

The program “Silent Ghost” choreographed by Alejandro Cerrudo was one of the new pieces debuted by the company this summer. Malaty says that the piece might be added to the company’s repertoire for good because of positive feedback.
