The 5th annual Apres Ski Cocktail Classic begins

MATT FERRO

The 5th annual Apres Ski Cocktail Classic kicks off this evening.

Seminars by award-winning mixologists to pop-up bars to the great pub crawl and competition, this year’s lineup will attract hundreds of participants and attendees. Over the next four days the event will let Aspen in on what’s trending in the industry.

Just as long as you’re 21 or older.

Charlotte Voisey is a mixologist with William Grant & Sons, a Scottish distillery. She’s from London but began mixing in the U.S. a decade ago. She said Aspen served as her first exposure to American cocktail culture. She’s been with the event since its inception five years ago.

“I think every year gets a little bit better because the event just gets more solidified. There’s more experience, so that in itself will attract more sponsors,” she said. “And I think there’s more and more local involvement, as well. It takes a little time to establish oneself as an event like this, but I feel like more local organizations are getting involved.”

The classic, which is open to the public, returns to The Little Nell today, with its first party beginning at 3 p.m. For more information, visit apresskicocktailclassic.com.
