SkiCo season passes feature art from Paula Crown

Aspen Skiing Company

This year’s Aspen Snowmass ski passes have a new look, designed by an owner of the Aspen Skiing Company.

Paula Crown is first and foremost an artist. She’s had her work displayed in London, and now it will be in the pockets of skiers and riders.

The passes feature five different lift-ticket designs with her sculptural installation Solo Together.

The crushed red Solo Cups are actually 150 hand-painted plaster sculptures meant to symbolize environmental awareness and togetherness, as well as traits of consumer culture.

This year’s choice breaks from a tradition between the Aspen Art Museum and SkiCo, which have typically partnered together to add art to lift tickets.

However, SkiCo and the museum will co-commission a new installation at Elk Camp at the Snowmass ski area, through the “Art in Unexpected Places” partnership, by Los Angeles based artist Sarah Cain.
