Visiting Poet To Customize Creativity At The Aspen Art Museum

Andrej Vasilenko

Friday and Saturday, poet CAConrad will meet with individuals at the Aspen Art Museum to help them craft a daily ritual meant to make their lives more creative.

Locals can sign up for private sessions at the Aspen Art Museum with CAConrad, who uses the pronoun “they.” The author and teacher start the consultation with a simple conversation.

“What I like to do is sit down with people one-on-one, ask how their lives are structured right now, and then, with them, build a ritual to be creative in small ways every day,” they said.

That might include free-form writing, poetry or visual art projects.  CAConrad says taking small steps to be more creative can transform people’s lives and help bring new perspectives to societal problems.

“If I can get people to be creative every day in their lives, especially in the places where they think that they absolutely couldn’t be - well, then after that they’re free,” said the poet.

CAConrad will also read from their own work on Friday evening at the museum.
