Comedian Sal Vulcano comes to the Wheeler on Saturday. The reality TV star sees stand-up as a way to get personal.
In the truTV series “Impractical Jokers,” which was just renewed for its eighth season, Vulcano and other comedians challenge each other to complete embarrassing dares. Vulcano says what sets the show apart from other hidden-camera series is that he and his fellow comedians are visibly nervous to complete their tasks in front of the unsuspecting public.
"I would stay I still squirm just tons," he said.
Vulcano says his solo stand-up comedy is a welcome change from an intense filming schedule. Onstage, he mines his personal life and his upbringing in New York City.
"I had just so much of my life experience which I wanted to talk about immediately, which I like, because it can’t be replicated," said Vulcano.
The show starts on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. Chris DiStefano opens.
