Week In The Arts: July 6-12, 2020

This is Week in the Arts—a curation of virtual events, exhibits and reopenings around the Roaring Fork Valley.

The Marianne Boesky Gallery’s newest exhibition, featuring Thornton Dial and Colorado artist Jasmine Little, is currently on display. Work by both artists will be on exhibit at the Aspen gallery until September 13, 2020.

Street performers will pop up around Willits and downtown Basalt between 5:30 and 8:30 for Wednesday Night Live. More information can be found on TACAW’s website.

Aspen Music Festival’s virtual summer season continues with three nights of programming this week. This week's online events include a live panel discussion moderated by the festival's president and CEO Alan Fletcher with violinist James Ehnes, pianist Andrew Armstrong and trumpet player Stuart Stephenson (July 6, 3 p.m.), along with two faculty and student showcases (July 8 and 9, 5 p.m.). The full schedule can be found on the festival’s website.

Kirsten was born and raised in Massachusetts, and has called Colorado home since 2008. She moved to Vail the day after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2011. Before relocating to Basalt in 2020, she also spent a year living in one of Aspen’s sister cities, Queenstown, New Zealand.
