Aspen Music Festival and School, Aspen Public Radio Team Up For Virtual Concert Series

Aspen Public Radio is partnering with the Aspen Music Festival and School this month to air a six-part virtual concert series highlighting the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth.

Jointly hosted by Classical Music from Aspen host Chris Mohr and Aspen Music Festival and School President Alan Fletcher, the schedule features the following hour-long performances:

Friday, August 14, 8:00-9:00 p.m.: James Ehnes violin and Andrew Armstrong piano in Beethoven Violin Sonatas

Friday, August 14, 9:00-10:00 p.m.: Alisa Weilerstein cello and Inon Barnatan piano in Beethoven Cello Sonatas

Friday, August 21, 8:00-9:00 p.m.: Behzod Abduraimov piano in music of Beethoven, Debussy and Mussorgsky 

Friday, August 21, 9:00-10:00 p.m.: Stefan Jackiw violin and Jeremy Denk piano perform Ives Sonatas 

Friday, August 28, 8:00-9:00 p.m.: Andreas Haefliger piano in Beethoven’ s “Hammerklavier” Sonata 

Friday, August 28, 9:00-10:00 p.m.: Augustin Hadelich violin and piano in music of Bach, Ysaye, Rachmaninoff, Roumain and Sarasate
