Glenwood Springs Hotels See Boost During X Games

Skiers, snowboarders and fans from all over the world are convening in Aspen for the X Games. The crowds at Buttermilk have boosted Glenwood Springs businesses as well.

Jeremy Gilley, director of sales at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs, says they’re completely booked on Friday and Saturday, and reservations are up almost 75% from an average January weekend.

“We have this weekend marked on our calendar as a high-demand weekend,” Gilley said. “And every year it just seems to be a little busier. I’ve talked to some of the other hotel managers in town and they see the same thing as well.”

The Glenwood Chamber says restaurants and other attractions report a similar uptick during the weekend of X Games.
