Let Them Roar Wraps Up Immigrant-Rights Campaign With Special Solstice Shows

letthemroar.com

Local band Let Them Roarperforms two special winter solstice shows Friday and Saturday at Steve's Guitars in Carbondale.

They’ll play what they’re calling “a continuous soundscape,” immersed in complete darkness.

The two concerts come at the end of a campaign called “I See My Light,” that’s meant to raise awareness for immigrant rights. It was inspired by five women who’ve taken sanctuary in Colorado.

One of those women is Sandra Lopez, an undocumented mother of three who lived in Two Rivers Unitarian Universalist church in Carbondale for nearly year when she was threatened with deportation.

The band says they've raised about $13,000 through "I See My Light."

The solstice shows start at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
