Recent Storms Boost Snowpack And Rivers

Wet snow and rain have boosted the Roaring Fork Watershed's snowpack. The sticky snow has contributed to snowpack that is 139 percent of average.

This year’s snowpack contains more water than last winter’s. When it melts, rivers will see increased flows from spring runoff.

The Roaring Fork River at Emma showed flows that were 254 percent of average flow for this time of year. The Colorado River at Glenwood Springs showed levels that were 1,510 percent of average.

These levels will rise as storms pass through the valley.
