The Art Basein Basalt is currently exhibiting A Moment, Please by Colorado artist Erica Green. The show includes a large-scale textile sculptural work and smaller-scale string drawings. The works are on display through February 13.
Aspen Gay Ski Week presents stand-up comedy from Julie Goldman of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" at the Belly Up on Thursday. Doors are at 8 p.m.
Friday is the opening of the 40th Annual Valley Visual Art Show at the R2 Gallery in Carbondale. The work of dozens of local artists working in a variety of mediums will be on display. A reception begins at 6 p.m. The show is on display through February 28.
