Eagle County to make mariuana grow operation official

When Eagle County Commissioners meet today, they're expected to make a marijuana cultivation facility in Missouri Heights official. The plan is for RFSC, LLC, to build a marijuana cultivation facility in the Pleasant Valley Ranch subdivision, about ten miles north of the El Jebel area.

It would include two greenhouses at 4000 square feet each, and then up to 6000 square feet in barns and other storage areas for drying, propagation, and other activity. Scot Hunn is a Senior Planner with Eagle County, and describes the project this way.

"It's a forty-four acre tract of land that is vacant. It's currently being used for irrigated pasture. It's a very rural piece of property there are very few existing residences in the neighborhood."

The area includes another subdivision and a second pot operation. According to Hunn, Eagle County considers the other facility as a success so far.
