The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority will soon be swapping bike racks for ski racks.
During the last two weeks of November, RFTA will remove bike racks from the front of each bus and place ski racks of the side of all of them. Riders are advised that during that time there is no guarantee that their bus will have a bike rack and all of them will be transitioned out by Thanksgiving, Thursday November 26th. On-season schedules also resume that day, increasing the number of local and commuter trips.
Also, with the shortened daylight hours, bus loading times have been reduced. Riders may only load bikes between 7 AM and 4:30 PM because bikes block the bus’s headlights.
