Every summer since 2004, Ascendigo has brought children with autism to the Roaring Fork Valley to participate in an overnight sports camp.
Today, the camp is so popular, participants are coming from around the country. Campers do activities ranging from rock climbing to wake boarding. Carly Knauf, the adult program manager at Ascendigo, and Sami Henry, the clinical coordinator at Ascendigo, explain that the organization now offers more than just sports.
Ascendigo operates summer and winter sports camps, a local adult enrichment program, and a local weekend adventure group. Major funding for these programs come from Ascendigo's annual fundraiser, Light It Up Blue, taking place at the Hotel Jerome in Aspen on Saturday, February 13, 2016.
