Three of the five seats on Aspen School District’s board of directors are up for election this fall.
Incumbents Dwayne Romero, Susan Marolt and Margeaux Johansson have all submitted their paperwork for the November election. Romero and Johansson are both serving board-appointed terms, and were not publicly elected to their seats.

Joining the incumbents on the ballot are Susan Zimet and Jonathan Nickell. Both serve on the District Accountability Committee, a state-required education advisory group.
Those wishing to run for school board must be registered voters and reside within the school district boundaries. Candidates must submit a petition with 50 in-district signatures by this Friday, Sept. 1.
