Bureau of Land Management

Colorado’s representatives responded to news yesterday that the headquarters of the Bureau of Land Management will move from Washington D.C. to the western United States. Grand Junction has been discussed as a potential site for the relocation.

“The move would ensure that decisions would be made by those who understand the land best, resulting in more effective land management programs and policies,” wrote Rep. Scott Tipton in a press release yesterday. Tipton’s district  stretches across the western third of the state and includes the Roaring Fork Valley and Grand Junction.

Senator Michael Bennet also praised the announcement.
