Basalt Welcomes Affordable Health Care Clinic

People in the mid-valley will see expanded affordable health care options. Mountain Family Health Centers is opening the Basalt Integrated Health Center on Monday.

Mountain Family Health has had a clinic in Basalt since 2011, which has served around 2,200 people. An additional 1,500 people will be served by the bigger clinic opening at 123 Emma Road, in the same building as Stubbies.

It includes dental services and more mental and physical health care: More doctors and nurses, who are able to serve more patients.

Ross Brooks, CEO of Mountain Family Health Centers, says the midvalley needs affordable health care options.

"For many years, there’s been a perception that there aren’t lower income workers. That everyone skis and is healthy and makes a high income," he said.

Mountain Family Health is opening the Basalt clinic with help from Aspen Valley Hospital, Pitkin County and Aspen Skiing Company, among others.
