Week in the Arts: February 5, 2018

Tuesday, there will be a screening of the documentary film “Wasted!: The Story of Food Waste” at The Temporary in Basalt beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Aspen Public Radio is hosting a second town hall forum at Belly Up Aspen. The conversation starts at 6 p.m.

 

Wednesday, the Peking Acrobats will perform at The Wheeler Opera House. That show also starts at 6 p.m.

 

Then later that night, Whitewater Ramble will play at Belly Up Aspen. That show starts at 10 p.m.

 

Thursday at the Belly Up, Big Wild will take the stage at 9 p.m.

 

Friday in Basalt, The Ann Korologos Gallery celebrates a series of nationally awarded and locally acclaimed artists in a group exhibition that starts at 5 p.m.

 

Friday also in Basalt, The Art Base will host an opening reception for Lara Whitley for her artwork titled “Still.” That also starts at 5 p.m.

 

Friday in Carbondale, there will be a night of comedy at Marble Distilling Company with stand-up funnyman A.J. Finney. The jokes begin at 6:30 p.m.

 

Friday in Aspen, there will be a screening of the classic Humphrey Bogart film “The Maltese Falcon” starting at 7:30 p.m. at Pitkin County Library.

 

Jeffrey Foucault will take the stage at The Temporary in Basalt at 8 p.m. on Friday.

 

Saturday, The Wheeler Opera House presents "PostSecret," an evening of storytelling at 7:30 p.m.

 

Sunday at The Wheeler Opera House, the all-male Argentinian dance company Che Malambo will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.

 

Also, Theater Masters' Take Ten Festival will take place in Aspen School District’s Black Box Theatre and will feature 8 short plays on Sunday. That show starts at 7:30 p.m.
