Skye's 'Big Picture, Baby' Highlights Big Artwork And Bold Voices

A new exhibit opening at Skye Gallery in Aspen Friday evening celebrates big bold works by five female artists.

The show, titled “Big Picture Baby,” was curated by Danielle Krysa, aka the Jealous Curator. The tongue-in-cheek name comes from Krysa’s blog and podcast, where she showcases artists whose work both makes her envious and drives her to produce art of her own.

The show includes large-scale work from Canadian and U.S. artists. While they have a wide range of styles, Krysa says that all the artists share the same approach.

"They all just show up with gumption. You know, they show up to the canvas with some attitude,” she said.

“Big Picture, Baby” opens Friday.  An artist’s reception will be held Dec. 13.
