Local conservation advocacy group Wilderness Workshop is organizing a rally in support of federal public land managers.

Thousands of workers at the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of the Interior have had their jobs cut over the past few weeks. Over a third of Colorado’s area is federally managed land. According to the Colorado Sun, about 150 positions across the state were impacted. The rally will take place Thursday from 4 to 6 p-m outside of the White River National Forest Supervisor’s Office in Glenwood Springs. Wilderness Workshop is asking attendees to bring a sign and a sense of solidarity. Sign making materials are available at the Third Street Center offices during business hours.
