On Monday, the Snowmass Town Council got a look at the size and location of buildings that would make up a proposed overhaul of Snowmass Center. Richard Shaw, a landscape architect working with Eastwood Snowmass on plans for the renovations, led a tour for council members and residents.
Tall metal poles on the site of proposed buildings stood in to represent their heights and locations. New construction would take shape on nearly every side of the existing complex, which caused some council members to raise concerns about blocked views in the meeting that followed.

Council member Tom Goode also raised questions about whether the construction plan would allow for businesses such as Clark’s Market and the post office to remain open and accessible during renovations.
In future meetings, the council will discuss traffic flow, shadows created by new buildings and a proposed pedestrian bridge that would connect Snowmass Center to Base Village.
