BettyFlies Foundation Hosts Live Conversation With Retired NASA Astronaut Nicole Stott

The BettyFlies Foundation, which provides flight school scholarships to students in the Roaring Fork Valley, hosts their “2020 Virtual Rendezvous” Wednesday starting at 6pm. Retired NASA astronaut and artist Nicole Stott will be featured, along with local youth Isaac Musselman, founder of the Basalt Aeronautics Club.

Pfister said she started the organization in honor of her mother, Betty Haas Pfister, a pilot at a time when there were not many piloting opportunities for women.

“It is so important for us to honor my mother’s legacy by providing educational and career opportunities in STEM and aviation to high school students in our local area,” said Suzanne Pfister, founder and president of the BettyFlies Foundation. “We have awarded five flight school scholarships and grant to the Basalt High School Aerospace Club and look forward to continuing our support to the community.”

All are welcome to join the virtual event. More information can be found on the BettyFlies website.
