Breaking: Glenwood Canyon Rockslide

Update: 11:56 a.m.: One lane of westbound I-70 through Glenwood Canyon is now open.  The right lane remains closed due to rockfall.  

Both lanes of eastbound I-70 are open. 

Update: 10:49 a.m.: I-70 eastbound is now open at mile marker 116. Westbound remains closed for what CDOT is calling a "major" rock slide in Glenwood Canyon. 

Update 10:16 a.m.: According to CDOT, crews are on the scene with heavy machinery.  No cars were involved in the rockfall, and no injuries have been reported, CDOT said.

I-70 through Glenwood Canyon is closed due to a rockslide. As of 8:13 a.m., eastbound will be closed for approximately three hours. Westbound 1-70 reopening is undetermined at this time.
