The Mobile Intercultural Resource Alliance (MIRA) is offering a second day of free COVID-19 testing in El Jebel Thursday. The organization tested 48 people last week.
Melina Valsecia, the community connector and manager at MIRA said they want to make sure they can test as many people as they can to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Eagle County.
The test kits were provided by Eagle County Public Health. At the pop-up testing site Thursday, Midvalley Family Practice will be performing the tests on those pre-screened.
Valsecia said this week they are offering free food boxes provided by local non-profit LIFT-UP. MIRA will also hand out free homemade masks to wear while out in public during the pandemic.
Testing will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crawford Properties at 60 El Jebel Road.
Those who are showing symptoms of COVID-19, such as a cough, shortness of breath or a fever, and want to be tested must first call 970-927-4666 to be screened and approved for a test.
