The final Aspen Words writer-in-residence for 2019 speaks about her work Tuesday evening.
Aja Gabel’s debut novel “The Ensemble” offers a glimpse into the high-stakes world of classical music.
During her October residency, Gabel is working on a new novel about a marriage between a physicist and an artist.
She says both novels are about the high cost of ambition.
"When that passion for your work overtakes your life, and I think that that’s always a problem in the arts or when you’re super-passionate about what you do," she said.
Gabel will read from and discuss both "The Ensemble" and her new work at Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar starting at 5:30 p.m.
