2026 Municipal Elections

Carbondale elected its first female mayor in ten years, about 100 people voted in Parachute’s first election in a decade, and New Castle’s town council will have a female majority for the first time since at least 2014.

The three municipalities held elections for town council member, town trustee and mayoral seats on April 7, 2026.

This voter guide includes up-to-date information about registering to vote, polling locations and what’s on the municipal ballots in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys.

The town had the same number of candidates as it had open seats. Grady Hazelton, Brandy Copeland, Caitlin Carey and Emily Sampley will be appointed to council on April 21.

The Basalt Chamber of Commerce hosted the candidate forum on Monday. Voters will choose three of four candidates during a municipal election on April 7.
